Today marketing or selling your products is not less that any war. As the competition is touching the peak, it’s time to pull up the socks to sustain in their business. Competitors win what seems like every project you vie for. Making it even more difficult is the fact that more providers than ever are going after customers’ smaller budgets.

Obviously it’s tough out there, but let me tell you it isn’t that impossible. If you keep an eye on buyer behavior, put homogeneous effort on prospecting, and keep your marketing game sharp, you would keep the other dogs from taking a bite out of your business.

Here are a few ways to help you do that.

1. Adjust to changing buyer behavior:

Earlier, Google was found to be the number one source buyers in order to get information about service providers. But now the change has happened and the search engine is now number three on the list. The reason is that these buyers turn to their friends and social network communities to help them decide who to hire. It’s been seen that buyers have the customer’s recommendation engine communities, and they use those to find out who they should be going to, who they can trust, who’s got the good stuff. Then only they decide to purchase the product.

2. Develop a strong prospect list:

The practice of strong prospecting might be quiet tough for you but you have to do it. Especially if you are a startup company then developing strong prospect list is like compulsory. If you are waiting that your customers will come to you, and then please forget that, you have to do something to come nearer to your customers.

Without leaving your office, you can get prospect names by looking up companies in directories such as the Yellow Pages and those published by your Chamber of Commerce. You can also review membership directories of groups you belong to, as well as alumni associations.

3. Take advantage of internet marketing tools:

As we all know internet is playing a major role in marketing these days. So they are plenty of tools that can help you to gain advantage over your competitors. New technologies are being developed almost daily that can help businesses market themselves online in order to gain an advantage over their competitors. Whether you’re a small local business or a multinational enterprise, it pays to continually study the new opportunities surfacing all the time.

Some of the important tools that will expand your presence:

  • Website visitor tools: SiteVisitorID.com, NetFactor.com, Visitstat.com, and LeadLander.com
  • Remarkable Tools: These tools allow you to follow site visitors and serve up ads as they visit other websites.
4. Create a Marketing Machine:
  • The following strategy should consist of the following steps:
  • Name the plan
  • Indentifies his target market
  • Details the service offered
  • Identifies the primary objective
  • Determines the intended results
  • Describe the special offers to your buyers
  • Details the call to action
  • Explains the action steps

However to implement these plans it needs a lot of preparation, along with it needs a appropriate strategy. But the point is if it’s been done properly then only you would be in the position to win the race. As I say, marketing is not any morning jogging this is race where you need to be fast and energetic.
